Future Education Summit Qatar: Revolutionizing Education in Qatar and Beyond

Doha, Qatar – February 22, 2024 – The inaugural Future Education Summit Qatar, in collaboration with the Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education, concluded, leaving a mark on the global educational landscape. Held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Doha on February 20, 2024, the summit provided a platform for educators, policymakers, and innovators to convene and strategize on the future of education, aligning with the Qatar National Vision 2030.


With over 400 attendees, including esteemed speakers and leaders from Qatar’s premier educational institutions, the summit garnered significant attention. Her Excellency Sheikha Hessa bint Hamad Al-Thani, a distinguished member of the ruling Al Thani Qatari royal family and the dean of the College of Education at Qatar University, graced the event alongside high-level representatives from the Qatari government and the Ministry of Education. Dr. Khalid Abdulla Al-Ali, Consultant at the Office of the Minister of Education and Higher Education Qatar, commended the organizers, Intellicon Events, for fostering collaboration within Qatar’s education community.

In his speech, Dr Khalid noted that the summit resonated with the Qatar National Vision 2030, emphasizing education’s transformative power in driving innovation and economic diversification. Renowned speakers like Edward Lawless, Executive Director – Academic Development, Pre-University Education, Qatar Foundation from Qatar Foundation and Dr. Abdulla Almansoori from the Qatar Career Development Center elucidated on the imperative to equip the youth with future-ready skills and foster adaptability for an evolving world.

In his speech titled: Preparing Qatar’s Future Generation and Human Capital for Future Careers in line with QNV 2030”, Mr Abdulla highlighted the important role Qatar Career Development Center plays in achieving the QNV 2023 and reiterate the organization’s commitment towards facilitating this transition to the future creating pathways that ensure Qatar’s future generations are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to thrive in an ever-evolving world.

Keynote presentations by industry experts such as Dr. Mohamed Elhindi, CIO, HBKU and Max Renault, Director Innovation, Weill Cornell Medicine explored topics ranging from digital disruption to the role of technology in higher education innovation. Notably, Jeff Kersting from The American School of Doha, drawing from his 16-year experience in educational technology shared insights and examples on how to leverage educational technology to enhance learning experiences. Jeff emphasized the importance of leveraging educational technology to enhance learning experiences, underscoring the summit’s commitment to preparing students for the future.

One of the participants, Mr. Badr Al-Hay, Director of Education and Student Affairs, at Aspire Academy, expressed pride in their contributions to the event noting that: “We at Aspire Academy, are very proud to be at the forefront of the future of education in Qatar. We were among the first educational institutions to see the pivotal role that technology plays in the ongoing development of teaching methods…adapt, collaborate and learn from the other participants at this summit. We are all working towards achieving Qatar National Vision 2030”.
